A little back story. I left this pharmacy in the great midwest. It was a fun pharmacy, everyone got along great. The pharmacists were fast and friendly. I moved out here in the hell hole I am in now. No one knows how to do anything. My pharmacy manger is super super nice and laid back and can deal with customers but has NO idea what even happens with all the fricking paperwork that piles up in the pharmacy that they throw into boxes. Some of the stuff you dont even need to keep anymore but of course he just keeps it all there. Sooo Irriating. Im ready to throw all the crap away. I moved into a slower store with just barlely enough tech help. Today I find out that the pharmacist that hates life is being transfered. That kind of makes me want to stay because when you work with a person that hates life its not worth working. The person that they want to replace isnt sociable. Thats A HUGE deal to me. I am sociable, super sociable. Sometimes I act like I have no idea what is going on back there because Im sick of being the only one dealing with all the crap going on. We are a compounding pharmacy also. No one knows how to fricking compounding (entering it into the system). Today, somone didnt pick up their tamiflu susp. Its good for 35 days so i decided to use that to fill another one. I noticed that it was entered wrong because the name of it was TAMIFLU SUSP. It should of been the generic name with the cherry syrup or orasweet sf in the title. So just for shits and giggles I looked up the recipie we used. Holy clusterfrack. It was made WRONG! completely wrong. I am just thinking what would of happened if that went out. What would of happened. No one would of ever figured it out because of course there is only the one check by the pharmacist and he did it all himself. Seriously, what the hell. So I fixed the problem, got rid of that what was made and fixed the script and put it back in the profile. What are people thinking. Im sick of cleaning up after everyone. Back home it was kinda like that, I was in charge of alot of things, but it didnt bother me that much because I had alot of fun at work. The one thing that I cant stand here is not having a set schedule. I work crazy shifts all over the place and not one thing is constant. Back home, I worked the same schedule everyweek and it never changed unless I switched with someone. I never had to look at the schedule. It was a nice thing to relay on. Also what pisses me of fhere is that there is no chance of overtime ever! if you work ot then you get written up. It sucks. I try to train people but end up getting screwed over beyond belief so Im in a If it gets done it does ( Relating to paperwork and crap that needs to be filed etc...) So I am debating wheater or not I should move home next month or not. Its a big decision that I need to make because as of right now the Pros of living here are NOT outweighing the CONS.If I do move back home then the onlything I need to worry about is pretty much nothing.

So I fell a little behind, dang, i will follow up more.
So California people are the devil.
I was being midwest nice when I fax dr. offices. I usually will say hello or hey when I fax them and always say thanks because usually it is something like having them do a prior auth which are pains in the butt to do so why not be nice.
I received a call from a nurse at the doctor office freaking out because how was she able to give that to the doctor it was way too unprofessional. So instead they want me to be direct and rude. I always included the id number and the correct number for them to call. Now I let them do the hunting. They can look that information up because I dont care. Before i would say Hey, this needs a prior auth, here is the Id number 32465479546546 and number to call 1-800-bigpharma or switch to omeprazole thank you. Screw helping them out if they want to be asses. Now a normal fax from me is. Do a prior auth, insurace doesn't cover. Short and sweet. Im done being nice. I get the drug addicts calling me freaking out because they pop too many pills and they want it now. How do doctors get away with prescribing all of these stupid crazy amounts of drugs?

They come in the drive thru and will open the bottle and take a swig and drive away. SERIOUSLY! Reason why people are crazy drivers here.

Except for the ones who pay cash for Oxycontin. I love how they have thousands of dollars to pay for their freaking oxycontin that is dosed crazy. Three times daily... qid.. fid... doctors are push overs here

The Woes of Medi-cal
Seriously it takes about 3 times to submit something before they will pay.

My Response: Heres the Number to Medi-cal, Its not in my hands anymore. Heres the Tar number, good luck.
Medi-Cal Should Cover every single antibiotic for a KID no matter what. Seriously its a fucking kid. They need the damn antibiotic. Seriously! I am just in awe of this amazing system. They pretty much only PAY for the BRAND name. Which, in its self is BS!

Me: Its right across the street from here here is the phone number
CL: Oh thank you so much
Seriously if you can't use a phone book or the internet to figure out where the 24 hour store is of your chain pharamcy i do not want your scripts anyways. Good Luck!
Other Random thing of the day:
Condoms- UTD. Of course their insurance covers it- its a medi-cal contract insurance. I do love how you do have some kids, but you are able to afford some Mandalay. Get a job, get insurance then come back. If I have to pay for my condoms, then you can pay for yours, its how life works.

I Have a favorite Customer
She abuses Tramadol & Vicodin. She makes up a sob story to who ever is working and the Pharmacist usually will give it to her. Now she has about an extra month of Tramadol and she wants more. Last night I ran it through her insurance and oh no it was a RTS. Shes like oh yeah I picked some up at ***** Pharmacy today.. but i need more, they only gave me 4 tablets. (She has already used this same story but with a different pharmacy. Which I called before) So i call up ***** Pharamcy but they are closed. Great, So I call the 24 hour location across the street to see if they can look centeraly at their other locations. He told me he could and oh no she picked up another 30 tablets today. I called her back and said, sorry, we can't fill this, it will be ** days before you can refill this here. She then goes on to say that they are lying to me and that there is no way that they can do that. I told her to call the pharmacy tomorrow. SERIOUSLY! Crazy customers. Oh then she added that she can't take vicodin anymore because it makes her too sick.. BS!
on a side note.
Before you come in to a pharmacy-- Or any other public place- TAKE A SHOWER. If I have to hold my breath to help you, then there is a problem!

Seriously Narcotics like crazy
So its the first time I have ever seen a pharmacy not carry a C-II log book. Back home every single tablet of a c2 was accounted for. Here, they don't give a flying frick what happens to them.
We probably go thru about a thousand tablets of oxycontin 80 a week.
I haven't seen a vicodin script for under qty of 60, the norm is 120 or 180.
I found some Morphine Sulfate 15 mg in a Gabapentin 600 mg bottle. Little blue tabs in a HUGE bottle of 50 wtf? Employee theft.. I think so.
A Pharmacy manager at another location hates me, even called the higher ups because he hates me. Well they laughed and yelled at him. He has been nice to me since. First thing first, make sure you loved when you start in a new place.

I kind of just forgot about this.
I was looking around and noticed I had this blog that I forgot about. Alot has changed since I started this. I got promoted and then decided to transfer to another state for the heck of it. Now I have to deal with the stupid format of Medi-Cal (Cali MA) I wont say from where I came from but with the amount of pharmacies in CA no one will know who I am.

Its a controlled script bitch! and Introdcing Sandy
I decided to switch to a morning shift, which i havent worked in a couple weeks. im a night owl and i hate waking up.
Last night we had Mrs. Crackerjack, shes a frequent person who likes to stop by at the last minute to get things filled and needs them absoublty right now. She also is on medical assistance so it makes life even better. Well so last night she came in for some c-3 -5 pain reliever and the doctor has the worst handwriting..Hes one of the few dentists that can provide for the system abusing ma people. Well it had some fucked up marks at the end that resembled a PMS prn, it was pretty horrible. of course when we try to tell her that we need to contact the dr. she FLIPS, and says to me that she always has a problem when she tries to fill this script everytime. So the Rph decides to just put prn utd. She gives us a nasty look and wants us to apologize to her.
After all this bitching and moaning she asks what a normal BG levels are at and she tells us a pretty high fucking number and the Rph tells her that she should be tested because of a history of it, Well ya know what the dumbfuck did, after this whole convo about her blood sugars she decides to go upto the front and buy some fucking chocolate. Can she get any fucking dumber?
As of lately we lost a pharmacy tech. She went to work for a stupid PBM. This new girl has already worked at anotherstore in the same chain but was kicked out because shes not reliable. So she was transfered to our store to work in the amazing front. Well since we were down a tech, the stupid storemanager thought it would be a good ifea for her to work at our pharmacy since we are a much much slower store (averaging about a hundred a day). She starts out all friendly but shes the amazing Sandy.
1. She is currnetly trying to accuse me of hippa violation....
2. just recently went to jail and tried to accuse me of showing her picture to everyone at work when all they would hae to do is look online.
Since shes started all she has caused is drama. Dont even get me started on the god damn work she "tries" to do.
Trust me you will be hearing about her as it continues.
